Addmaster is exhibiting at the meat industry’s biennial trade exhibition MeatUp on Wednesday 24th May 2017 and Thursday 25th May 2017.
Contamination from pathogenic bacteria is an increasing concern for the food industry and consumers alike. A recent Food Standards Agency survey reports that supermarkets face losing half their customers to rival retailers because of fears about Campylobacter in chicken.
Addmaster has a range of solutions with Biomaster built-in antibacterial technology designed to tackle some of the biggest issues facing the food industry by reducing the risk of bacterial cross-contamination.
Addmaster has worked with leading multi-material packaging manufacturer Linpac to develop a range of trays and films with built-in Biomaster antimicrobial technology to reduce bacteria growth on the outer packaging of fresh meat.
Another Addmaster innovation is a range of Asda cling film, foil and bakery parchment dispenser cartons protected with antibacterial technology to prevent cross contamination of bacteria from hand to carton and from carton back to hand.
Addmaster partner Sealwise has also developed an ultra-hygienic antibacterial sheet material that is highly resistant to all types of common bacteria, Sealwise WCB is extremely versatile and ideal for food production areas helping create a healthier environment by reducing the opportunity for cross-contamination.
Biomaster is also used in an award-winning antibacterial ‘bag for life’ enabling shoppers to re-use their bags more safely.
The bag is currently on general sale from leading UK high street stores and was named Best New Product by Britain’s leading food hygiene experts SOFHT.
Visitors to Meat Up at ArenaMK in May will be able to sample a free bag for themselves.
Simon Baugh, Director of Marketing at Addmaster says, “It makes commercial sense to look at high risk areas for bacterial contamination and reduce the risks from harmful bacteria on these surfaces throughout the supply chain. It is important for the food industry to provide the safest possible service for end users. We work with equipment manufacturers, processors, packaging providers and retailers to identify applications where Biomaster can add value.”
Biomaster antibacterial technology is both safe and effective is now available at minimal cost to food producers and customers.
Biomaster technology can be added to almost any product. With typical addition rates of around 1% it is highly cost-effective and crucially does not affect product functionality or a food’s properties such as taste and smell.
