Joining plastic components after moulding often works better with ultrasonic welding than with adhesives, particularly where a clean, contamination free joint matters. Andel Plastics offers ultrasonic welding as part of our injection moulding service from our Birmingham facility, fusing components produced on machines from 50 to 200 tonnes into finished assemblies without introducing adhesives or solvents into the joint. Because welding happens on the same site as moulding, components move directly from production into assembly without the delay or risk of shipping unfinished parts elsewhere for joining. Our in house toolroom develops bespoke welding horn technology matched to each component's specific geometry, rather than applying a generic setup regardless of shape or material. This approach suits projects where overmoulding or single shot tooling would be impractical or too costly to tool up for. Real time monitoring keeps weld quality consistent across a full production run, giving traceability alongside the moulding data already captured.
