3D Printed Fixtures For Pad Printing

3D Printed Fixtures For Pad Printing

Sometimes the fastest way to get a new pad printing project moving is to produce the holding fixture itself using 3D printing, rather than waiting on conventionally machined tooling. Andel Plastics can produce 3D printed fixtures for pad printing projects at our Birmingham facility, giving us a quicker, more cost effective route to a working jig for trial runs, lower volume projects, or components still being finalised in design. Once a fixture design is proven, we can move to a more durable conventionally made jig if a project scales up into higher volume production. This approach suits new product launches particularly well, where the exact final component geometry may still be settling and a fully machined fixture would be premature. Single colour printing with RAL or Pantone matching then applies as normal once the fixture is in place, using nylon or steel etched plates depending on the run. Vector artwork support covers the logo or design side of the process.
For manufacturers who need a faster route into pad printing without over investing in tooling too early, 3D printed fixtures offer exactly that flexibility.
