Avocet are working in partnership with JLC Electromet, a world leading melter and wire drawer of a variety of nickel based alloys including quality controlled expansion alloy wires.These are iron-nickel alloys, equivalent to alloys such as Kovar®, exhibiting low expansion at room temperature. They are used in many glass-to-metal and hermetic sealing applications.By modifying the nickel content, metallurgists have created a range of alloys that are tailored to suit the specific application. JLC have control of all the necessary processes in house including melting and drawing which enables the end user to have full traceability.
