Copper Nickel Resistance Wire and Shunt Alloy
Copper Nickel Resistance Wire and Shunt AlloyCopper Nickel resistance wires have been developed for use in low temperature heating applications.Typically they have a higher copper content than nickel and are used in such applications as car seat heating, under floor heating and heat tracers. These alloys are characterized by low electrical resistivity and low temperature coefficient of resistance. They provide good resistance against oxidation and chemical corrosion, and are easily soldered.Shunt alloys are predominantly used in the manufacture of resistors, particularly ammeter shunts, because of its virtually zero temperature coefficient of resistance value.
