Sterile Packaging For Medical Instruments

Sterile Packaging For Medical Instruments

Medical instruments require packaging that maintains sterility right up to the point of use, and that starts with where the packaging actually happens. Andel Plastics carries out sterile packaging for medical instruments within our Class 7 cleanroom in Birmingham, a facility running since 2015 and built around the needs of medical and veterinary manufacturers. Because packaging is carried out in the same controlled environment as moulding and assembly, instruments never pass through an uncontrolled stage before they are sealed. We work to ISO9001 standards and follow ISO13485 procedures throughout the cleanroom, with recertification currently underway, giving customers a documented process rather than a general assurance of cleanliness. Moulding takes place on machines from 30 to 300 tonnes, and an in house toolroom supports the operation from initial tooling through to repairs and modifications. For manufacturers of medical instruments who need sterile packaging integrated directly into the production process rather than handled by a separate supplier, this is precisely the service our cleanroom was set up to deliver.
