Plastic Enclosure Ultrasonic Welding

Plastic Enclosure Ultrasonic Welding

Enclosures need a joint strong enough to protect whatever sits inside them, while still allowing for a clean, consistent external finish. Andel Plastics carries out ultrasonic welding of plastic enclosures from our Birmingham facility, using high frequency vibration to fuse the two halves of an enclosure into a strong, permanent bond without adhesives or visible fixings. This matters for enclosures that need to resist dust, moisture or physical knocks, since a welded seam typically performs more consistently under stress than a bonded or clipped joint. We develop bespoke welding horn technology to suit the specific shape and wall thickness of each enclosure design, rather than applying a generic setup that risks weak points around corners or complex features. Supported by our own injection moulding facility and in house toolroom, we can manage an enclosure project from initial moulding through to finished, sealed assembly on the same site. For manufacturers producing plastic enclosures that need a genuinely reliable seal, this approach to welding is built to protect what is inside without compromising on appearance.
