Andel Plastics carries out ultrasonic welding from our Birmingham facility by applying high frequency vibration to two plastic surfaces, generating localised heat that melts and fuses the material together into a strong, permanent bond in a matter of seconds. Unlike adhesive bonding, the process introduces nothing extra into the joint, since it relies entirely on the plastic itself rather than a separate bonding agent. That makes it well suited to medical, industrial and general manufacturing applications where contamination control or long term joint reliability matter. We develop bespoke welding horn technology for each project, matching the process to the specific material and geometry involved rather than applying a fixed, generic setup. Supported by our own injection moulding facility and in house toolroom, we can manage the entire journey from moulding through to finished, welded product on the same site.
