Energy Saving Motor Controllers for AC Induction Motors

Most AC induction motors are specified for the worst case load they might ever face, not the load they actually carry day to day. That gap between rated capacity and real world use is where a huge amount of wasted energy sits, quietly, across every fixed speed motor on a site. Integra, the energy saving motor controller from Suresense, exists specifically to close that gap.

It does this by converting the motor into its own load sensor. Rather than running flat out regardless of demand, the motor's actual power draw is measured and adjusted continuously, roughly every 10 milliseconds, so the energy going in matches the energy the task genuinely needs. No more, no less. This is what makes Integra suited to fixed speed applications where changing motor speed isn't an option but reducing wasted power is.

The result for AC induction motors running variable duty cycles is a meaningful cut in electricity use, typically somewhere between 10% and 40% depending on how much the load fluctuates.

Motors that spend a lot of time under partial load see the biggest gains, since that's exactly where a standard, unadjusted motor is burning the most unnecessary power. It's a straightforward retrofit for existing fixed speed motor installations, designed and built in the UK by Suresense's own engineering team.
