Intelligent Fixed Speed Motor Control System

Fixed speed applications come with a specific challenge. The motor has to keep turning at a constant rpm regardless of how much work is actually being done, which historically has meant running at full power all the time just to guarantee that speed is always available. Integra, Suresense's intelligent motor control system, was built to solve exactly that problem.

It works in a similar way to cruise control on a car. Rather than the engine, or in this case the motor, running flat out constantly, Integra continuously reads the load and adjusts the power supplied to match it in real time. The motor's speed never changes, but the amount of energy consumed to maintain that speed drops considerably whenever the full load isn't needed.

This intelligent, load-sensing approach means full power is still available instantly when required, typically within a 50th of a second, so there's no compromise on performance or responsiveness. What changes is the amount of energy wasted during the far more common periods when the motor is running under partial load.
